The Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L is a honking huge and heavy prime lens.  Of course it is, there's a lot of glass inside this weather sealed "L" lens. This lens has a bad reputation as being slow with a tendency to back focus.  Well... it could be tricky wide opened  -- no surprise there - as the depth of focus was the width of a human hair. It also tended to wash out when opened wide regardless of the ISO or shutter speed... or even in dim lights. That said, this was a fun lens. It scratched an itch I had to explore low light photography.  Super sharp when stepped down, this lens offered versatility. No flash? No problem.  No IBIS? No problem. I bought a used copy back in 2013. I finally parted ways in 2021 when I moved to the RF version.
