After I bought my first DSLR in 2011, the first prime lens I bought was the Canon EF 50 F/1.8 II. This little plastic wonder sold for $99. The Nifty-Fifty. I had no idea what I was doing with my photography, but this little lens got me hooked. It was far superior to the kit lens that came with my first DSLR (Canon EOS T2i). It opened up new possibilities into creativity that I didn't know existed. I soon became hooked on Bokeh and low light photography. And this is how I feel down the rabbit hole.  I eventually passed it and the T2i to my soon when he ventured off to college. This lens survived and was returned a couple years ago. Wow. Not bad for a little plastic lens. Well done Canon.
