Canon EOS 5DIV

Used from 2017 to 2020

I upgraded to the Canon EOS 5DIV not long after it was released. It was a solid upgrade to the 5DIII, introducing a new sensor and a touch screen among other features. By this time, I was serious and earning a little money from my photography. Although this was an upgrade from the 5III, I kept the older camera all the while, using it as a backup.

CAMERA REVIEW:  Like the 5DIII, this camera was a tank. Tough, durable, and dependable. The ergonomics of the 5DIV were superb and almost identical to the previous models. In other words, it felt good in your hands, the buttons were where they needed to be and the menu system is clean and easy to navigate. I found that the newer sensor had better IQ and dynamic range. High ISO and low light performance were both improved as well.  I took at least 10,000 + keepers with the this body. not as many as the 5DIII, but close. After I picked up a Canon EOS R, I stopped using this camera. The new mirrorless body produced the same quality with greater image control. I sold the 5DIV, hopefully it found a good home where it will be used, and used, and used as it was designed to do. (I sold both the 5DIII and 5DIV at the same time).

CAMERA SPECIFICATIONS:  It is easier to include a link for the specifications than to list them all out here. Click HERE . In the photos below, I included the first and last photos I took with this camera. With interchangeable lens cameras, both the camera and lens matters. For each picture, you can click on the details to see what lenses were used.
